 Robert Harold Powers, 68, of Hawkinsville died September 29, 2011, at Holly Hill N
Hill Nursing Home in Valdosta.
 Born October 28, 1942, In Brooks County to the late Marcus and Flora Kirkland
Power
Powers, he served in the United States Army with a tour in Vietnam where he recei
received the Purple Heart and four Bronze Stars. He was a fabricator working in a
ste
a steel plant and a member of the American Legion Hawkinsville Post 125. He is
prece
preceded in death by four sisters. Stella Harnage, Della Samples, Julie Simmo
Simmons, Sally Virginia Powers and three brothers, James Powers, Howard Hughes and
W
and Willis Powers.
 Survivors include two sisters, Resey Fountain and Sara Brantley, both of Ray City
City; brother Edward Powers of Morven; number of nieces and nephews.
 Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. on October 2 at Lakeland Chapel of Music Fun
Funeral Services and burial followed at New Ramah Cemetery.
 Music Funeral Services of Lakeland was in charge of arrangements.
