He was retired from Nashville Mills with 25 years of service and was of Roman Catholic faith. Survivors include his devoted wife of 58 years, Alicia Rodriguez Prida; two daughters, Marta Ray and her husband, Dr. Danny V. Ray and Olga Peele and her husband, Gerold Peele; son, Jose C. Prida and his wife, Pat Heath Prida; sister, Maria Patten; five grandchildren, Jason and Carlos Prida, Lindsi Jones, Gerry and Kelly Peele. Funeral services were held Sept. 21 at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Lovein Funeral Home with Dr. Danny V. Ray and Rev. Daniel Dean officiating. Jake Alley sang "Take My Hand, Precious Lord," Hal Hilton sang "There is No Other Fountain," and Kelly Peele sang "Jesus Will Still Be There." Interment was in Westview Cemetery. Active pallbearers were Jason Prida, Carlos Prida, Gerry Peele, Walter Patten, Heath Spradley, David Ray, Daniel Ray, Earl Browning. Honorary pallbearers were Ray Peele, Mark Peele, Doug Alley, Jake Alley, Lane Smith, Johnny Taylor, Jimmy Drawdy. Lovein Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
