BERRIEN COUNTY -- Mr. Wayne Purvis, 60, of the Gladys Community in Berrien 
County, died Tuesday, May 4, 2004, at Tift Regional Medical Center.

A funeral mass will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Anne's Catholic Church in 
Alapaha, with the Father Alfonzo Gutierrez officiating. Burial will follow in 
Fletcher Cemetery in Alapaha.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 tonight at Paulk Funeral Home in 
Ocilla.

Born November 14, 1943 in Irwin County, Mr. Purvis was the son of Myrtle Purvis 
and the late Homer Purvis.

Mr. Purvis was a barber and operated Purvis Package Store in Gladys. He was a 
member of St. Anne's Catholic Church in Alapaha.

Mr. Purvis is survived by his wife, Carolyn Griffin Purvis; two sons, Wayne Jr. 
(Kathleen) Purvis and Michael (Melinda) Purvis; his mother, Myrtle Purvis; two 
grandchildren, Chris and Kathy Purvis, both of Gladys Community in Berrien 
County, and one brother, Jimmy K. Purvis of Albany.

Paulk Funeral Home in Ocilla is in charge of arrangements.
