 Clyde Purvis, 83, of Fitzgerald died July 6, 2004 at Tift Regional Medical 
Center in Tifton.

 Born January 17, 1921 in Berrien County to the late Elbert and Janie Sirmans 
Purvis, he was a retired carpenter. He served in the U.S. Navy during WWII and 
was a lifetime member of the VFW Post 5250 in Tifton. He was married to the 
late Gertrude Wilson Purvis.

 Survivors include a daughter, Margaret Diane Arnold of Moultrie; one brother, 
Curtis R. Purvis of Tifton; one sister, Malone Connor of Tifton; two 
grandchildren, five great-grandchildren.

 A graveside service was held July 10 at 11 a.m. at Purvis Cemetery with Rev. 
Huey Nichols officiating.

 Paulk Funeral Home of Fitzgerald was in charge of arrangements.
