 John Keith Purvis, 73, of Alapaha died January 20, 2013 at Tift Regional 
Medical Center.
 He was born June 18, 1939 in Ocilla to the late Tally Leo and Lilly DeBerry 
Purvis. A retired auto mechanic, he was known as "Mr. Fix It," He was a member 
of the Alapaha Baptist Church and served in the United States Navy. In addition 
to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister.
 Survivors include his wife, Othell Alexander Purvis of Alapaha; daughter, 
Daphne (LaWayne) Taylor of Nashville; son, Keith (Reejeana) Purvis of Alapaha; 
sister, Jane Goodman of Alapaha; two brothers, Charles Purvis of Alapaha and
Hughlon
Hughlon Purvis of Enigma; three grandchildren, Bryce Phillips, Kade Purvis, and 
Ryder Taylor.
 Funeral services will be held Wednesday, January 23, 2013 at 2 p.m. at Alapaha 
Baptist Church with the Rev. Mike Gibbs officiating.
 Interment will follow in Glory Church Cemetery.
 Lovein Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
