  Theresa Carolyn Purvis, 68, of Alapaha died Sunday, October 11, 2015, at her 
residence.
 Mrs. Purvis was born February 16, 1947, in Ocilla to the late John Daniel and 
Mary Geneva McMillan Griffin. She lived  in the community all of her life and  was 
a licensed practical nurse. Mrs. Purvis enjoyed taking care of others, being 
outdoors and working in her yards. she was a very active member of st. Ann's  
Catholic Church. 
 She  is survived by her sons and  daughters in law, Wayne Purvis, Jr. and 
Katherleen of Alapaha and  Michael Purvis and  Melinda of Alapaha; four 
grandchildren, Kathy Purvis, Christopher Purvis, Jayden Purvis and Alex Purvis; 
two great-grandchildren, Gavin Arrington and Garrett Arrington; four brothers, 
Edison Griffin and Mary Ann of Knoxville, TN, John Wayne Griffin and Cindy of 
Bonifay, FL, Charles Griffin of Milledgeville and James Thomas Griffin and Kathy 
of Alapaha; one sister, Mary Ann G. Woody and Don of Nashville; several nieces and 
nephews.
 In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Wayne 
Purvis, Sr.
 A Rosary Service was  held on Tuesday, Oct. 13 at 6 p.m. at St. Ann's Catholic 
Church. Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday Oct. 14 at St. Ann's 
Catholic Church in Alapaha  with Father Freddy Angel and Deacon Ray Brown 
officiating.
 Interment was  in Fetcher Cemetery in Alapaha.
 Paulk Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
