She was born Oct. 5, 1916, in Berrien County to Willie Vester Taylor and Cora Belle Turner. She was a homemaker and a member of Poplar Springs Missionary Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Cola Ray, who died in 2001, and a daughter, Maudine West. Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Hazel and Rayford Odom of Nashville; a son and daughter-in-law, Levaughn "Bud" and Barbara Ray of Ray City; a son-in-law, Judson West of Jacksonville, FL; two brothers, Bob Taylor of Whitesville, NC and Coy Taylor of Valdosta; nine grandchildren and 11 great- grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 27, 2004, at Poplar Springs Missionary Baptist Church. Officiating will be the Rev. Johnny Hendley, the Rev. Junior Swain and the Rev. Mark Swain. Interment will be in Poplar Springs Cemetery. Visitation is today after 3 p.m. with the family receiving friends from 7-9 p.m. Lovein Funeral Home, Nashville.
