He was born Feb. 13, 1943, in Valdosta to the late G. Troy and Vera Clyde S Stallings Register. A real people person, he never met a stranger. His p priorities in life were loving his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, his family a and others. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Ray City where he had s served as deacon and Sunday school teacher. He was owner of Register Pecan C Company and broker of Register Realty, Inc. He was a 1961 graduate of Valdosta H High School and an avid Wildcats fan. He received a degree in Accounting from V Valdosta State University and worked in the accounting division of Georgia P Power Company until 1977, he received a law degree from Atlanta Law School. He was proud to have served his country in the United States Navy aboard the USS Franklin D. Roosevelt. He enjoyed studying the history of his family and served as President then Chairman of the Board of the Register Family Association for many years. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, son-in-law, uncle and friend. Survivors include his wife of 44 years, Brenda Rackley Register; daughter and son-in-law, Misty and Robert (Bo) Yeargan of Brunswick; two granddaughters, Savannah Rae Rueff of Brunswick and Anna Logan Yeargan of Baxley; brother and sister-in-law, Ashley and Martha Register of Donalsonville, GA; his in-laws, James and Irene Corbett Rackley of Valdosta; sister and brother-in-law, Terrie and Marvin Head of Douglasville; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Jerry and Marsha Rackley of Valdosta; 10 nephews, two nieces and numerous great nephews and nieces. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers and sisters, Prescott D. Register, G. Troy Register, Jr., Aristeene Regi Register Kelly, Narene Register Sikes and Rena Register Myddleton. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Nov. 16 at First Baptist Church of Ray Ray City with entombment at Cat Creek Cemetery. The Revs. Robbie Peay and John Pat Patten will officiate.
