She was born on July 18, 1924 in Jackson County to Weymon and Eunice L. Nicholson. She was a homemaker and retired nurses aide and attended the Nashville Mission. She was the widow of Alvis Rice who died in 1986. She is survived by two daughters, Marilyn Hesters and Betty Fackler, both of Nashville; two sons, Franklin Rice, Valdosta, Charles Rice, Nashville; 10 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and one sister, Lois Barker of Archdale, N.C. Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 26, 2005 at Nashville Mission with the Rev. Grady Jewell, Jr., and the Rev. Clarence Luke officiating. Burial will be held in Long Bridge Cemetery. Debbie Tyson sang "Amazing Grace" and "On the Wings Of An Angel." Visitation will be held after 4 p.m. today with the family receiving friends from 7-9 p.m. Pallbearers were Larry Rice, Marvin Barker, Junior Futch, Bob Futch, Temus Rice, Bobby Rice, Tommy Rice, Steve Rice, Kenneth Futch.
