  Ava Grace Rice, 86, of Nashville died October 21, 2008 at Berrien County 
Hospital.
  Born February 23, 1922 in Duval County, FL to the late Arthur and Mattie Lee 
Rice,  she was a homemaker and member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Cool 
Springs. She was married to the late Fate Eugene Rice.
  Survivors include three daughters, Mary Ann Brannen of Adel, Betty Hall of 
Nashville, Dorothy Griffin of Norman Park; sister, Shirley Jorgeson of Oak 
Ridge, TN; 11 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death 
by two daughters, Bobbie Jean Stone and Shirley Ann Rice, and two brothers, 
Raymond Rice and Clinton Rice.
  A graveside service was held October 23 at 11 a.m. in Nashville Memorial 
Gardens with the Rev. Stan Nix officiating.
 Selected family members served as pallbearers.
  Lovein Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
