Richardson Passes Away; Rites Monday well known and highly regarded citizen of Nashville, passed away at a Middle Georgia Hospital late Saturday, following a lengthly illness. Mr. Richardson had lived a useful life having taught in the Berrien County schools for a number of years. He was interested in all civic affairs and any thing for the betterment of the community. He was born March 14, 1908, the son of the late T.D. and Sally Rachel Fender Richardson. He lived all his life in Berrien county. Funeral services were conducted Monday at 3:00 p.m. from the sanctuary of the First Baptist Church in the presence of a large gathering of relatives and friends. Rev. Garnie A. Brand and Elder Charlie Vickers were the officiating ministers. The church choir rendered appropriate music. Burial followed in West View Cemetery. Pall bearers were P.A. Harris, Pat Webb, Troy Harris, Robert Jackson, W.H. Outlaw and Herbert Allen. Mr. Richardson is survived by his wife, the former Miss Mamie Griner, one son, William Marcus Richardson, Jr., one brother, Terrell Richardson, Ray City; five sisters, Mrs. Eddie Gurganeous, Mrs. Joe Spells, Mrs. Aubra McKinnon and Mrs. Pope Howell all of Nashville and Mrs. J.C. Hand of Ray City. Lovein Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. Richardson was the principal at Cottle in 1935-36, New Lois in 1937-38, and New River 1938-39 through 1941-42. He may have served other years and other schools, but that information has not been compiled by this researcher at this time.
