Born March 24, 1926 in Berrien County to the late Joe and Alice Lewis Mathis, s she was a homemaker and member of Poplar Springs Missionary Baptist Church. She w was preceded in death by her first husband, Clarence Plymel, and son, James W Winston Plymel. She is survived by her husband, Wilbert Rigdon of Nashville; daughter, Katie Weeks of Adel; step-daughter, Elaine Rigdon of Nashville; sister, Betty Meyer of Lakeland; six grandchildren, Tammy Clements, Bill Plymel, Kevin Weeks, Susan Corbitt, Jessica Parkerson and Jeremy Smith; 12 great-grandchildren and 10 great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held September 26 at 2 p.m. in the Chapel of Lovein Fune Funeral Home with the Revs. J.W. Dukes, III, and Freddie Stone officiating. Interment followed at Poplar Springs Cemetery. Pallbearers were Bill Plymel, Kevin Weeks, Brandon Corbitt, Michael Benson, Jo Joe Fulghum, Alvin May. Honorary pallbearers were Bruce Mathis, Donald Mathis, J.D. Mathis, Robert M Mathis, Alfred Stone, Raymond Graham, Thomas Mainor. Lovein Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
