 Elton Ring, 65 of Nashville, Ga. died Febuary 8, 1997 at the Tift General
Hospital in Tifton, Ga.
 Mr. Ring was born March 15, 1931 in Irwin County to the late John G and Julia
Chaney Ring. He was retired from Levi Strauss Co in Valdosta, Ga., served in the
U S Air Force and a member of Lax Holiness Baptist Church.
 Survivors include his wife of 44yrs, Betty Ruth Singletary Ring, one son Dwight
Ring and one daughter Denise Ring Watson both of Midway, Ga., two sisters Gussie
Ring and Arssie Ring Boutwell both of Ocilla Ga, one brother Charles Ring from
Cordele Ga. and 5 grandchildren. 
 He was preceded in death by both parents, John and Julia Ring, long time
residents of Irwin County and Lax community, three brothers and three sisters.
 Services were held 2:00pm Febuary 10 at Lax Holiness Baptist Church in Irwin
County with the Revs Ferrell Harper and Lawton Watson officiating. Music
provided by New Generation.
 Interment to follow at Lax Holiness Baptist Church cemetery where he will rest
beside his parents.
 Active pallbearers were Clint Scruggs, Anthony Gill, Fred Hughes, Mark Ring,
Barry Hall, Dusty Lucas. 
 Honorary pallbearers were Pershel Daniels, Waldo Swilley, Tommy Lee, Lonnie
Abel, Futch Yarbrough, Fred Hesters, Charles Bryant, Buddy Hart,and Cleon Brown.
Lovein Funeral Home of Nashville Ga was in charge of arrangments.
