Roland, 94, of Nashville died Sept. 13, 2009, Berrien County Hospital. Born March 3, 1915, in Berrien County to the late John Thomas and Eliza Easters Roland, he was a retired bulk gas delivery driver and member of Vickers Church. Survivors include two daughters, Grace Stone of Lakeland, Joyce Spradley, Kingsland; five sons, John Woodrow Roland, Jr., Newberry, FL, Johnny Roland, Phenix City, AL, Donald Roland and Larry Roland both of Nashville, Russell Roland, Alapaha; sister, Juanita Boyd, Ray City; brother, Walton Roland, Homeland, FL; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lillie Mae Walker Roland who died in 2005 and two sons, James Vernon Roland and Earl Wayne Roland. Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Sept. 16 at 11 a.m. at Vickers Church with the Rev. Billy Walker officiating. The Billy Walker family sang "Satisfied" and great-granddaughter, Lexi Henderson sang "Amazing Grace." Interment was held in Vickers Cemetery. Pallbearers were Johnny Roland, John Robert Roland, Paula Roland, Gary Stone, Greg Stone, Herbie Stone. Lovein Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
