Born November 3, 1914 in Berrien County to the late Gordon and Rosetta Rowan Hesters, she was a homemaker and attended Nashville Mission. She was married to the late William Henry Roland. Survivors include two daughters, Louise Royal of Tifton and Coretha Bennett of Douglas; two sons, W.H. Roland, Jr. of Augusta and George Roland of Adel; one brother, Rev. Fred Hesters of Nashville; 12 grandchildren, 19 great- grandchildren. Funeral services were held January 17 at 11 a.m. at Nashville Mission with the Revs. Clarence Luke, Brad Royal, and Olem Bennett and Mr. Chad Roland officiating. Margaret Giddens sang "When I Cross That River" and "Look What I Traded a Mansion For," accompanied by Linda Hall. Interment was in Oakey Grove Cemetery. Pallbearers were Tim Robinson, Chris Roland, Tommy Bennett, Greg Royal, Shane Roland, Charles Rogers. Lovein Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
