Born Oct. 12, 1922, in Berrien County to the late Lossie Levi and Sarah Elizabeth Hall Rowan, he was a retired carpenter and member of Oakey Grove Primitive Baptist Church. He was a Navy veteran of World War II. Survivors include his wife, Sandra "Sandy" Harris Rowan of West Berrien; two daughters and one son-in-law, Patsy Rowan of Vidalia and Nancy and Don Griner of Dallas; a son, Arnold Rowan of West Berrien; a sister, Louise Boyd of West Berrrien; seven grandchildren, Tim Lovett, Adam Rowan, Katie Rowan, Misty Paul, Charity Cox, Courtney Cox and Faith Cox, three great-grandchildren., Signa Coleman, Parker Lovett and Lauren Lovett. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Signa Rowan, a granddaughter, Brandi Lovett and three sisters, Velora Walker, Myrtice Bostic and Jeanette Rowan. Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. on Nov. 28 in the Chapel of Lovein Funeral Home with the Revs. Clarence Luke and Mickey Lindsey officiating. Songs on CD included "I'm a Winner Either Way," "Turn Your Eyes Upon Jesus," and "Amazing Grace." Interment was in Long Bridge Cemetery. Pallbearers were Lamar Harris, Anthony Alexander, Chris Luke, Josh Boyd Raymond Boyd, Johnny Giddens. Lovein Funeral was in charge of arrangements.
