She was born on Dec. 28, 1924, in Berrien County to the late Neal and Lucinda Spells Singletary. She was a homemaker and attended Nashville Mission. She was the widow of Ralph A. Rowan who died Feb. 13, 1989. She is survived by three daughters, Cheryl Luke of Nashville, Lydia Carlton, Coolidge, LaJuana Chafin, Norman Park; three sons, Wallace Rowan, Melbourne, Fla., Earl Rowan, Cleveland, Tenn., Linwood Rowan, Homerville; 13 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Stacy Luke. Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, Aug. 26, 2005, at Nashville Mission with the Rev. Jerry Baldree and the Rev. Raymond Gabbard officiating. The Paffords sang "Beulah Land," "Eastern Gate," and "What Heaven Means To Me," accompanied by Linda Hall, pianist. Burial will be held in Empire Cemetery.
