 Evelyn Rowan, 79, of Nashville died on Saturday, December 6, 2008, at the 
Berrien County Hospital. She was born in Berrien County on September 5, 1929 to 
the late John Griffin and the late Minnie Rowe Griffin. She was a homemaker and 
a member of Flat Creek Church. She was married on April 28, 1951. She is 
preceded in death by one son, Derril Allen Rowan, who died in 2001; four 
brothers, Clifton, Wyman, Coy and Thurston Griffin; and one sister, Susan Ellen 
Griffin. She is survived by her husband Jessie A. Rowan “Jr.”, Nashville; two 
sons, Ricky (Elizabeth) Rowan, Nashville, Mikell (Marie) Rowan, Nashville; two 
grandchildren, Philip Rowan and Angela Warren; three great-grandchildren, Corey 
Rowan, Andrew Rowan and Lisa Warren; and two brothers, Eugene Griffin, Alapaha, 
and James Fain Griffin, Alapaha. Services will be held Monday, December 8, 2008 
at 2 p.m. at the chapel of Lovein Funeral Home with the Rev. Raymond Cason 
officiating. Burial will follow at Long Bridge Cemetery. Visitation will be 
Sunday, December 7 from 7-9 p.m. at Lovein Funeral Home-Lovein Funeral Home.
