Born April 5, 1929, in Berrien County to the late Jessie Aaron and Lola Hall Rowan, he was a retired farmer. He was an Army veteran of the Korean War. He was preceded in death by his wife, Evelyn Griffin Rowan, two sons, Ricky Rowan and Allen Rowan; five sisters, Ora Mae Roland, Minnie Roland, Inez Jones, Lourine Lourine Roland, Flora Belle Hendley; brother, Clarence Rowan. Survivors include his son and daughter-in-law, Mikell and Marie Rowan of Nashville; two grandchildren, Philip (Stephanie) Rowan and Angela (Walt) Warren; three great-grandchildren, Corey Rowan, Andrew Rowan, Lisa Warren; two sisters, Mamie Braswell of Nashville and Bessie Mashburn of Waycross. Funeral services were held Dec. 5 at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Lovein Funeral Home with Rev. Raymond Cason and Rev. Shaun Suggs officiating. Songs on CD included "Amazing Grace" and "Kaw-Liga." Interment was in Long Bridge Cemetery. Pallbearers were Corey Rowan, Andrew Rowan, Tim Warren, James Hancock, Jackie R Rowan, Kenneth Roland. Honorary pallbearers were Marvin McCorvey, James Tyson, Leroy Harper, T.G. P Pleasant. Lovein Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
