Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at Riverside Missionary Baptist Church, with Elder Dewayne Hooven and the Rev. J.W. Dukes III officiating. Burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery. Visitation will be held after 4 p.m. today at Lovein Funeral Home, with the family receiving friends from 7 to 9 tonight. Born April 11, 1924, in Berrien County, Mr. Rowe was the son of Luther Rowe and Pearl McNabb, both deceased. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and was a retired farmer. After retirement, he was a part-time associate with Lovein Funeral Home. Mr. Rowe was a member of Riverside Missionary Baptist Church. He loved bluegrass music and attending bluegrass festivals. Survivors include his wife, Emolois Hendley Rowe of Nashville; a daughter and son-in-law, LaQuieta and Wendell Purvis of Nashville; three sons and daughters- in-law, Earl and Linda Rowe of Valdosta, Ronnie Rowe of Sweetwater, Tenn., and Johnnie and Charlotte Rowe of Augusta; two brothers, William Henry “"Buddy"” Rowe of Nashville and Dorian Rowe of Statesboro; several grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
