  Ruth Burks Rutledge, 80, of Nashville died July 9, 2008 at Berrien Nursing 
Center.
  She was born in Winston County and lived in Philadelphia, MS for a number of 
years before moving to Berrien County. She was a member of Mars Hill 
Pentecostal Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Earl Burks, and 
two sisters, Maggie Hare and Florence Boatner.
  Survivors include her daughter and son in law, Glenda and Dan Taylor of 
Nashville; two sons and daughters in law, Gary and Shirley Burks of 
Philadelphia, MS and Raymond and Dell Burks of Dover, DE; brother, William 
Holmes of Pascagoula, MS; nine grandchildren, six great-grandchildren.
  Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, July 12 at Old Mars Hill 
Church in Winston County, MS with the Rev. Londia Burks officiating. New 
Tradition and Kay Stringfellow provided music. 
  Interment was in Mars Hill Cemetery.
  Pallbearers were Ray Perry, Tommy Burks, Willis Burks, Willie Holmes, Martin 
Holmes, Dan Alan Taylor.
  McClain-Hays Funeral Home of Philadelphia, MS was in charge of arrangements.
