Born April 26, 1942 in Frederick Co., MD to Carl Schlesinger of Tuscumbia, MO and the late Grace Schlesinger, he was a Retired Msgt. in the United States Air Force and a retired shipping clerk with Nashville Mills. He was a member and past commander of the Nashville Post Veterans of Foreign Wars and a Vietnam veteran. H was a member of A'Neway Baptist Church. Survivors, in addition to his father, include his wife, Iva Lynn "Pat" Levan Schlesinger of Nashville; one daughter, Erin Schlesinger of Jacksonville, FL; one step-daughter, Lisa Griner of Enigma; two sons, Phillip Eugene Schlesinger, Jr. of the U.S. Marine Corps, Jacksonville, FL and Chris Schlesinger of PA; two step-sons, Roy Willis and Patrick Willis, both of Nashville; five sisters, Mary Carol Luce of Springfield, MO, Betsy Albertson of Dixon, MO, Janie Albert of Jefferson City, Mo, Kathy Haralson of Kansas City, MO, Ann Andrews of Tuscumbia, MO; one brother, Frank Schlesinger of Tuscumbia; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held Sept. 3 at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Lovein Funeral Home with Rev. R.T. Castleberry officiating. Musical selections included "Amazing Grace," "When I Got There," and "Long Black Train." Interment with full military honors by the Honor Guard of Moody Air Force Base was held at Westview Cemetery.
