Born September 24, 1933 in Wayne Co., TN to the late Charles Raybon and Naomi Johns Schmittou, he was retired from the U.S. Air Force as SMSgt (E-8) after 22 years of service. He was a member of Pine Grove Missionary Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife, Betty Rudine Taylor Schmittou of Nashville; one daughter, Deanna Rae Obeidalla of Nashville, TN; one son, Glenn Thomas Schmittou of Thomasville; two sisters, Mozelle Murray of Atlanta, Liz Gurkin of Mt. Juliet, TN; two brothers, Tom Schmittou of Donaldson, TN, Rudolph Schmittou of Auburn, AL; ten grandchildren. Funeral services were held October 26 at 11 a.m. at Pine Grove Missionary Baptist Church with Revs. R.T. Castleberry, Ronnie Lawson and Ken Potts officiating. The church choir sang "Where Could I Go" and "I'll Fly Away," The Taylor Family also provided music. Interment was in Vickers Cemetery. Lovein Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
