NASHVILLE -- James Thomas "Tom" Shaw, 82, of Nashville died Friday, Dec. 19, 
2003, at Tift Health Care.
 He was born on Nov. 1, 1921 in Coffee County to Thomas Watson and Maggie 
Devane Shaw. He was retired from route sales/delivery with Southern Propane, a 
Navy veteran of WWII, member of Nashville Post VFW, member and deacon of 
Nashville First Baptist Church.
 He is survived by his wife, Elva Kent Shaw of Nashville; four daughters, Babs 
and Joe Thomas, Sylvester, Nancy and Randy Anthony, Hudson, NH, Stephanie and 
Michael McMillan of Chula, Maria Rea and Jim Sims, Hahira; seven 
grandchildren; six step grandchildren, two great-grandchildren; five step-
great-grandchildren; four sisters, Mary Cato, Martha Keffer, Betty Vickers, 
Allene Brown, all of Nashville; and one brother, Raymond Shaw, Nashville.
 Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m., Sunday, Dec. 21, 2003, at Nashville 
First Baptist Church with the Rev. Richard Williams, the Rev. Jamie Tucker and 
Jackson Moore will officiate. 
 Burial will be held in Westview Cemetery. Visitation will be held after 5 
p.m. today with the family receiving friends from 7-9 p.m.  In lieu of 
flowers, memorials may be made to South Georgia Hospice or Alzheimer's Disease 
Association.
