He was born on Nov. 1, 1921 in Coffee County to Thomas Watson and Maggie Devane Shaw. He was retired from route sales/delivery with Southern Propane, a Navy veteran of WWII, member of Nashville Post VFW, member and deacon of Nashville First Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife, Elva Kent Shaw of Nashville; four daughters, Babs and Joe Thomas, Sylvester, Nancy and Randy Anthony, Hudson, NH, Stephanie and Michael McMillan of Chula, Maria Rea and Jim Sims, Hahira; seven grandchildren; six step grandchildren, two great-grandchildren; five step- great-grandchildren; four sisters, Mary Cato, Martha Keffer, Betty Vickers, Allene Brown, all of Nashville; and one brother, Raymond Shaw, Nashville. Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m., Sunday, Dec. 21, 2003, at Nashville First Baptist Church with the Rev. Richard Williams, the Rev. Jamie Tucker and Jackson Moore will officiate. Burial will be held in Westview Cemetery. Visitation will be held after 5 p.m. today with the family receiving friends from 7-9 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to South Georgia Hospice or Alzheimer's Disease Association.
