Born August 25, 1928 in Berrien County to the late June and Eunice McGlachen Brogdon, she was a retired seamstress with Levi Strauss Co. with 28 years service. She was a member of Calvary Tabernacle and attended Nashville Mission. She had been a resident of The Retreat for several years. She was married to the late Ira Cecil Shealy and was also preceded in death by a daughter, Karen "Sissy" Bunton. Survivors include three sons, Larry (Brenda) Durrance of Charleston, SC, Ira (Dean) Shealy of Nashville, Hugh (Sarah) Shealy, Sr. of Lake Hartwell, SC; two daughters, Mary (Darrel) Walker of Nashville, Marie (Jim) Shealy of Valdosta; 13 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, one great-great-child. Funeral services were held Sept. 14 at 11 a.m. in the chapel of Lovein Funeral Home with the Revs. Franklin McDaniel and Grady Jewell, Jr. officiating. The Paffords sang "I've Come Too Far To Look Back Now" and "My Home is Just Around the Bend," accompanied by Linda Hall, pianist. Interment was in Guthrie Cemetery. Lovein Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
