The Berrien Press -- Ruth Pauline Shearer, 88, of Jacksonville, Florida, died 
September 14, 2006 at St. Hospital.
 Born October 23, 1917 in Ware County to the late Robert Lee and Sarah 
Kirkland Thompson, she was a homemaker and member of St. Simons Island First 
Baptist Church. She was married to the late Oscar French Shearer, Jr.
 Survivors include one daughter, Wendy Anne Shearer of Jacksonville; one son, 
Oscar French Shearer, III, of Jacksonville; one sister, Mildred Griffin of 
South Carolina; four grandchildren, two great-grandchildren.
 A graveside service was held Sept. 19 at 10 a.m. at Fletcher Cemetery with 
Rev. Billy Roberts officiating.
 Lovein Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
