Born in Atkinson County on January 2, 1920 to the late Arthur Davis and Pearlie Agnes Wilkerson Cater; she was a homemaker and member of Nashville United Methodist Church and Circle G. She was also a member of Eastern Star and V.F.W. Ladies Auxiliary. She was married to Robert Bruce "Rob" Shepard who died in 1997. Survivors include a daughter, Karen Shepard, Nashville; two sons, Bobby (Joan) Shepard and Bruce (Iris) Shepard, all of Nashville; five grandchildren, Cindy Shepard Perryman, Jo Ann Shepard Duke, David Shepard, Robert Bruce Shepard, II, and Rebecca Shepard-Hill; five great grandchildren. Funeral services were held at 4:30 p.m. on April 15 at Nashville United Methodist Church with Rev. Dwight Bishop officiating. Renee Gaskins provided organ music. Interment was in Westview Cemetery. Pallbearers were Jim Hancock, Ken Spears, Wynn Hancock, Jackie Dove, Jerry Griffin, Dan Taylor, Keith Pitts, Michael Jones. Lovein Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
