Born June 29, 1936, in Berrien County to the late Jesse K. and Lillian Estelle Bennett Singletary, she was a homemaker and member of Gandy Road Baptist Church in Bartow, FL. She was the widow of Allen Leon Sheppard who died in 2000. Survivors include her son, Perry Sheppard of Nashville; brother, J.D. (Faye) Singletary, Mulberry, FL; three grandchildren, Melvin Key Sheppard, Jr., Lindsey Nicole Sheppard, Richard A. Sheppard, three great-grandchildren, McKenna Sheppard, Layna Sheppard and Kaden Duers. Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. on Sept. 5 in the Chapel of Lovein Funeral Home with the Rev. Mickey Lindsey officiating. Sissy Bennett sang "Lord, Don't Move That Mountain" and "I Want To Stroll Over Heaven With You." Interment was held in Vickers Cemetery. Pallbearers were Mike Singletary, Ben Singletary, Steven Singletary, Carlie Deen, Joey Douglas, Jamie Hancock. Lovein Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
