 William Orville Shipes, 59, of Ocilla died September 12, 2005 at his residence.

 Born October 8, 1945 in Wayne County to the late Wiley and Katie Lucille Hall 
Shipes, he was a retired SFC/E-7 military police with the U.S. Army and a 
Vietnam veteran.

 Survivors include his wife, Barbara Ann Stephens Shipes of Ocilla; one son, 
Michael Shipes of Austin, TX; four sisters, Betty Morris of Jesup, Cindy 
Burroughs of Jacksonville, FL, Patty Redding of Ludowici, Lavenia Rogers of 
Raiford, FL; three brothers, William Hall of San Diego, CA, Steve Shipes of 
Albany, Jimmy Shipes of Jesup; two grandchildren.

 A graveside service with full military honors was held September 14 at 2 p.m. 
at St. Luke Cemetery with Rev. Brent Duncan officiating.

 Lovein Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
