Born in Brooks County to the late Marcus and Fannie Powers, she was a former r resident of Suwanee County, FL, and was a retired nursing assistant. She a attended Bright Pond Baptist Church in Jasper and was a member of Flat Creek B Baptist Church in Berrien County. She was preceded in death by three sons, F Floyd Watson, Johnny Watson and Christopher Simmons. Survivors include four sons, Odel Watson, Jr., of Quitman, Billy Joe Watson of Morven Morven, John Henry Watson of Jasper and Shawn Simmons of Jacksonville, FL; three brothers, Edward Powers of Morven, W.L. Powers of Moultrie and Robert Powers of Hawkinsville; two sisters, Ressey Fountain and Sarah Brantley, both of Ray City; five grandchildren, one great grandchild. She was also preceded in death by two sisters, Stella Harnage and Della Samples, and brother, James Po Powers. Funeral services were held June 5 in the chapel of Harry T. Reid Funeral Home i in Jasper. Interment followed in Live Oak Cemetery. Harry T. Reid Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
