Simmons, 75, of Nashville, died Monday, Oct. 13, 2003, at his res residence. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at Nashville Church of God. Th The Rev. Willie Heath, the Rev. Julian Strom and the Rev. Teddy Pierce will of officiate. Burial will follow at Westview Cemetery. Active and honorary pallbearers were members of the maintenance department w with which the deceased had worked. Visitation will be held after 3 p.m. today at Lovein Funeral Home in Nashville, with the family receiving friends from 7 - 9 tonight. Born May 4, 1938, in Berrien County, Mr. Simmons was the son of Shafter Daniel Simmons and Myrtice Eula Moore, both deceased. He was also preceded in de death by his first wife, Ida Pearl Gaskins Simmons. He was an Army veteran of the Korean Conflict and was retired from Nashville M Mills. Mr. Simmons is survived by one daughter, Dorsi Simmons of Nashville; one s stepdaughter, Jan Harrelson of Nashville; one son, Delbert Simmons of N Nashville; two sisters, Estelle Tripp of Sanford, NC and Elizabeth Miller of J Jacksonville, FL; three brothers, Don Simmons and George Simmons, both of N Nashville and James Simmons of Jacksonville and two grandsons.
