Funeral services will be held today at 3 p.m. at Poplar Springs Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. Junior Swain and the Rev. Donnie Sloan officiating. Burial will follow at Poplar Springs Cemetery. Born April 12, 1910 in Berrien Co., Mr. Singletary was the son of Nathan Singletary and Estelle Lewis, both deceased. He was a retired farmer and a member of Poplar Springs Missionary Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Claudie Ellen Hall Singletary, who died in 1967, and also a daughter, Mary Alice Moore. Mr. Singletary is survived by his wife, Lillie Velma Kent Singletary; three daughters, Betty Luke of Nashville, Shirley Brown of McRae and Patsy Barker of Adel; three sons, Bennie Singletary of Howell, Elton Singletary of Adel and Donnie Singletary of Adel and Donnie Singletary of Hinesville; one brother, Nathan Singletary Jr. of Orlando, FL; 17 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren.
