   Martha Singletary, 85, of Nashville died February 29, 2008, at Berrien 
County Hospital.
  Born October 4, 1922, in Atkinson County to the late Ebb and Mattie Hall 
Walker, she was a homemaker and for many years worked with her husband in the 
operation of the family business, Five Points Grocery and Market. She attended 
Springhead United Methodist Church in Atkinson County. She was preceded in 
death by her husband, Charlie Walton Singletary, who died in 1997, son, Cecil 
Singletary, who died in 2006, one granddaughter, Martha Kaye Vickers, and 
brother, Isbon Walker.
  Survivors include daughters, Ann Vickers and Gail Reynolds, both of 
Nashville; son, Charles Singletary of Nashville; sister, Sara Walker of 
Elcajon, CA; nine grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren.
  Funeral services were held March 3 at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Lovein Funeral 
Home with the Revs. Willie Heath, Chris Newbern and Keisha Ferguson 
officiating. Joel Dixon sang "I Can Only Imagine." Janice Cooper, accompanied 
by Linda Hall, pianist, also provided special music.
  Interment was in Westview Cemetery. 
  Active pallbearers were Charlie Singletary, Walt Vickers, John Reynolds, 
Johnny Walker, Danny Walker, Burt Anderson.
  Honorary pallbearers were Thomas and Elnita Parr, Ted Heath, Pon Davis, Jeff 
Crib, Rev. Fred Hesters, Bobby Murray, Billy Murray, Melvin Murray, Glenn 
Miller.
  Lovein Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
