W.A. Kelley of the Methodist Church and Rev. W.H. Reed of the Baptist Church, officiating, the services being deeply impressive. The youth was only about fifteen years of age, and had his foot crushed by a tram engine at his home at Ray City about ten days before his death. He was given attention by physicians there and was later brought to a hospital here. He developed blood poison and although everything possible was done for him he continued to grow worse until he died at an early hour Sunday morning. He was a son of Mr. and Mrs. Pleman Sirmans, of Ray City, his father being connected with a big lumber concern there. He was highly thought of by the people of that community, and his death has brought sorrow to many there and here. Ralph was a grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Clements, of Adel, his mother being Miss Minnie Clements before her marriage. His other grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Brown, of Blackshear, parents of his father, were also with the young man when the end came. The funeral cortege was a very large one, there being a large number of people here from Ray City and other towns and communities, all of whom deeply sympathize with the sorrow-stricken parents, brothers and sisters and other relatives.
