Sirmans, Sr., 66, of Ooltewah, TN died August 22, 2010, after b battling brain cancer. He served honorably for 20 years in the United States Navy, retiring at the rank of Lieutenant Commander. He was the recipient of the Air medal for aerial combat (two awards) the Navy Commendation Medal (five awards) the Presidential Unit Citation, Navy Unit Commendation, Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, Nation Defense Defense Service Medal, Sea Service (four awards) Vietnam Service Medal (five awards) awards) and the Vietnam Campaign Medal. After his military retirement, he became an ordained minister, as well as a Licens Licensed Practical Nurse. He was employed as a nurse by Stratford House Geriat Geriatric Care Center, Life Care Centers of America, Valley Hospital, HCA Health Health Systems and PPS Infusion Pharmacy. He was Past President and Chaplain of the Ch the Chattanooga Chapter of the Christian Motorcyclist's Association and a member member of the Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter 203. He was preceded in death by his father, Lance J. "Cowboy" Sirmans, mother, Mildr Mildred Sirmans and two brothers, Bob Folds and Wayne Sirmans. Survivors include his wife, Sonja Sirmans of Ooltewah; son, Lance David Sirm Sirmans, Jr., Ellijay; daughter, Lisa Sirmans, Cleveland, TN; brother, James Sirm Sirmans, Nashville; sisters, Joan Sirmans, Nashville, Lettie Revels, Chat Chatsworth, June Taylor, Perry and Faye Patterson, Hahira; five grandsons, two gran granddaughters. Funeral services were held August 26 at 11 a.m. in the chapel of Heritage Fun Funeral Home with the Revs. Wayne Lowery and Harold Swaggerty officiating. Interment followed in Chattanooga National Cemetery with military honors being pr provided by the Vietnam Veterans Chapter 203. Heritage Funeral Home of Chattanooga, TN was in charge of arrangements.
