S. Skinner, 79, of Nashville died September 15, 2007 at South Georgia Medical Center in Valdosta. Born June 18, 1928 in Berrien County to the late John and Leila Stone Skinner, he was a retired insurance agent. He served with the U.S. Army during the Korean War. Survivors include his wife, Wylene Marie Jordan Skinner of Nashville; three step-daughters, Debbie Harris and Effie Brighton both of Nashville, Teresa Clanton of Atlanta; two sons, Donnie Skinner of Hinesville and Johnny Skinner of Tuscaloosa, AL; three step-sons, Larry Clanton of Elkton, FL, Curtis Clanton of Morriston, FL, David Clanton of Winter Haven, FL; three brothers, Elder Robert Skinner of Lakeland, Kenneth Skinner of Nashville, Leon Skinner of Homerville, two half-brothers, Larry Skinner of Nashville and Danny Skinner of Adel; 17 grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother, James Skinner and a sister, Dorothy Fania. Funeral services were held Sept. 17 at 10 a.m. in the chapel of Lovein Funeral Home with the Revs. Ronnie Lawson and Garvie Nichols officiating. Waunell Nichols sang "What Will I Leave Behind?" and "The Last Mile of the Way." "Far Side Banks of Jordan" was played on CD. Lovein Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
