Born March 23, 1939, in Berrien County to the late David Jackson and Nettie Akridge Skinner, he was retired President/CEO of Farm Credit of Southwest Georgia. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Ray City where he served as a deacon and Sunday School teacher. He was the cemetery sexton for Beaver Dam Cemetery and New Ramah Cemetery, a former Berrien County Commissioner, and a charter member of the Nashville-Berrien Rotary Club. He was preceded in death b by a granddaughter, Ansley Elizabeth Skinner, two brothers, William Skinner and J Jack Skinner and sister, Pauline Riel. Survivors include his wife, Sarah Elizabeth Garner Skinner of Ray City; daughter and son-in-law, Sarah Virginia “Ginger” and Bo Jones of Bainbridge; son and daughter-in-law, George Alan and Deanna Skinner of Dothan, AL; five grandchildren, William Skinner, Catherine Skinner, Ty Jones, Carah Jones and Luke Jones; brothers, Albert Skinner of Aiken, SC and Charlie Skinner of Cairo; sisters, Kathleen Hendley of Nashville and Elouise Nash of Lilburn; sister-in-law, Louise Skinner of Atlanta. Funeral services were held March 18 at 3 p.m. at First Baptist Church of Ray City with the Rev. Robbie Peavy officiating. Jackson Moore gave a eulogy. Gary Lentz sang law, Louise Skinner of Atlanta. Gary Lentz sang “Beulah Land,” and the Skinner family ensemble with the congregation sang “Amazing Grace.” Nell Daniels served as pianist. Interment was in Beaver Dam Cemetery. Active pallbearers were Archie Hendley, Roger Hendley, Danny Sparks, Bill Garne Garner, Danny Skinner, Jim Skinner, James Skinner, Wayne Nash. Honorary pallbearers were Earl Boyett, Scottie Brogdon, Fred Carter, Gerald Chas Chason, Michael Cooper, Elliott Garner, E.W.
