Born April 10, 1914 in Berrien Co. to the late Burrell S. and Winnie Griffin McNabb, she was a former employee of Union Bag. A member of Powers Baptist Church, she also taught Sunday school at Morningside Baptist Church for many years. She was a Girl Scout leader and an accomplished seamstress and cook. She was married to the late Hubert Hoke Smith. Survivors include two daughters, Maurene Tapley and Judy Hawkins; brother, Ruel McNabb; two grandchildren, two great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held Nov. 1 at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Thomas C. Strickland and Sons Funeral Home, West Chatham Chapel. Interment was in Hillcrest Abbey West Cemetery. Thomas C.
