Elder C.C. Smith
	Elder Cauley C. Smith, 83, of Ray City, passed away Saturday, Dec. 28 at 
4 p.m. after a lengthy illness at Louis Smith Memorial Hospital in Lakeland.
	He was a retired farmer and a lifelong resident of Berrien County.  His 
wife, the former Mary Etta Bass, died Nov. 29, 1967.  Elder Smith was a devoted 
member of Irene Primitive Baptist Church.
	Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. at New Ramah Primitive Baptist 
Church with burial in church cemetery.
	Elder Vern Marshall and Elder Lamar Carter officiated with Lovein 
Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
	Survivors include one son, T.J. Smith of Ray City; two sisters, Mrs. 
A.L. Ray of Hahira, Mrs. Annie Davis of Valdosta; two brothers, B.J. and Owen 
Smith of Valdosta; also two grandchildren.
