Born November 24, 1923, in Pearson, Atkinson County, GA to the late E.L. and Mary Burch Cook, she was retired from National Cash Register Company of Jacksonville and was of the Baptist faith. She was preceded in death by a son, Theadore Dommy Stratton; three brothers, Clyde Cook, C.W. Cook and Ernie Cook; four sisters, Ella Davis, Cloie Elizabeth Leggette, Annie Lee Ricketson and Jessie Bell Gilliard. Survivors include her husband, Art Speckert of Callahan; four sisters, Donna Wee C. Nelms, Clarice Hamilton Gilliard and Janice Sayyah, all of Nashville, and Angeline Lyons of Bethel, ME; numerous nieces and nephews. Local nieces are Marie Lindsey and Barbara Boyd, both of Nashville. A viewing service was held Saturday, May 30 from 6-8 p.m. at Lovein Funeral Home. A graveside service was held May 31 at 2 p.m. at Westview Cemetery with the Rev Mark Swain officiating. Darlene Parker sang "Amazing Grace." Pallbearers were nephews Shawn Lindsey, Shawn Lindsey, Steve Lindsey, Sage Lindsey, Michael Lindsey. Lovein Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
