SPELL DIES AFTER SICKNESS George Spell, Aged and Widely Connected Lowndes Countian Passes After His Illness RITES TOMORROW George Spell, 82, pioneer member of one of the best known and most widely connected families in south Georgia died early last night at his home on the Bemis road, following a lengthy illness. Funeral services arrangements for which are in charge of McGowan-Giddens, will be held at Fender Cemetery, near Lakeland tomorrow afternoon at 3 o'clock. The rites will be in charge of the Rev. A. C. Pyle pastor of the Lee Street Baptist church of this city and the Rev. Charles Vickers of Ray City. Survivors are four daughters, Mrs. Henry Spires, Nashville; Mrs. Cauley Downing, Ray City; Mrs. K. C. Crosby, Lakeland and Mrs. Morris Daniels, Jacksonville, and three sons William M. Spell and John Spell of this city and Joe Spell of Ray City. A sister, Mrs. Annie Sutton of Nashville, also survives. The body will be carried to the home this afternoon, and the funeral party will leave from the residence tomorrow at 1:45 going directly to the cemetery. Mr. Spell was prominently known throughout this section. He was a pioneer resident of Lowndes county and south Georgia, and his family was one of the first to come into this section when it was first settled. He was beloved by a wide circle of friends all over this section.
