 Steve Allen "Stevie" Spells, 53 of Nashville died July 12, 2008 at his 
residence.
  Born June 25, 1955 in Lowndes County to the late Elmo Lafayette and Hazel 
Rogers Spells, he was a communications cable splicer.
 Survivors include his wife, Shirley Parrish Spells of Nashville; daughter, 
Kristy Michelle Spells of Nashville; stepdaughter, Annie Burnes of Nashville; 
two stepsons, Aaron Rice and Tracy Rice, both of Nashville; tow brothers, Elmo 
Spells, Jr. and Wendell Spells, both of Nashville; seven grandchildren, Brooke 
Spells, Evelyn Rice, Kaylie Rice, Hobie Burnes, J.B. Burnes, Jaden Rice, Carla 
Rice. He was preceded in death by a son, Eddie Johnson-Spells, who died in 1999.
 A graveside service was held July 14 at 2 p.m. at Westview Cemetery with the 
Rev. Larry Daughtry officiating. "When I Get Where I'm Going" was played on CD.
 Pallbearers were Elton Taylor, Earl Warren, Johnny Holbrook, Michael Spells, 
Tracy Rice, Aaron Rice.
 Lovein Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
