He was born March 14, 1932, in Valdosta to the late Leah and Minnie Gaskins Stallings. He was a retired insurance agent/owner with State Farm Insurance for 42 years, a retired Brigadier General U.S. Army with 32 years of service; attended Gordon Military College in Barnesville and was a graduate of the University of Georgia. He was a member of Nashville First Baptist Church, long standing choir member and a past deacon. He was preceded in death by a brother, Ray Stallings. He is survived by his wife, Sylvia Zeigler Stallings of Nashville; daughter, Lynn Stallings of Nashville; son, Lee (Jeanette) of Nashville; three grandchildren, Abigail, Isabelle, and Joseph; nieces and nephews, Carol Yancey of Nashville, Cheryll Johnston of Melbourne, FL, Kerry Kimsey of Moultrie, Kim Kimsey of Albany, Bob Stallings of Lake Wales, FL and Buck Stallings of Tampa, FL; several great nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held on Saturday, November 28 at 2 p.m. at Nashville First Baptist Church with the Rev. Danny Ray and Rev. Stanley Luke officiating. Interment with full military honors was in Westview Cemetery. Lovein Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
