 John Leland Stalvey, 87, of Ray City died Nov. 22, 2011 at South Georgia M
Medical Center.
 Born in Lowndes County on Jan. 30, 1924, to the late John J. and Ellen Cowart
Stalvey
Stalvey, he retired from the U.S. Postal Service as a rural mail carrier. He 
was born a farmer and was well known for the sweet potatoes he grew. He was a 
member of First Baptist Church of Ray City. In addition to his parents, he was 
preceded in death by a son, David Leland Stalvey, his brothers and sisters, 
Troy Stalvey, Beulah Exum, Dewey Stalvey, Leila Moore, Myrtice Boyd, Willie 
Bell Stalvey, Alberta Tomlinson, Ruth Gerregano, James Stalvey and Owen Stalvey.
 Survivors  include his wife of 59 years, Margaret S. Stalvey; daughter, Marnie
Stalvey
Stalvey; daughter-in-law, Donna Sue Stalvey; son and daughter-in-law, Steve and
Micki
Micki Stalvey; grandchildren, Leanne and Nick Morris, Carl and Ashli Stalvey, 
Kasey Stalvey, Kristin Stalvey, Peyton Griffin, Taylor Camp; great 
grandchildren, Suanna, David, and Saranne Morris, John Haven and Autrey Stalvey 
all of Ray City; brother and sister-in-law, Arlie and Jane Stalvey of Orlando, 
FL; sister-in-law, Numa Stalvey; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Edith and Elwood
Elwood Mayo all of Ray City; a number of nieces and nephews.
 Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. on Nov. 26 at First Baptist Church of Ray C
Ray City.
 Interment was in Beaver Dam Cemetery.
 Music Funeral Services of Lakeland was in charge of arrangements.
