Arthur Garfield Stanford
NASHVILLE -- Arthur Garfield Stanford, 67, of Nashville died Wednesday, Sept. 
13, 2006, at his residence. Born Feb. 25, 1939, in Berrien County, he was the 
son of Chesley Stanford and Susie Luke, both of whom preceded him in death. He 
was the widower of Dorothy Ann Ray Stanford, who died Jan. 13, 2006. He was 
preceded in death by a daughter, 
Survivors are two daughters, Lisa Jones and Diane Stone, both of Nashville; 
three sons, Richard Knowles and Gary Knowles, both of Nashville, and Wayne 
Stanford, Centrailta, Wash.; three sisters, Bea Trice, Gerline Stanford and 
Emalois Stanford, all of Fitzgerald; five brothers, Jimmy Stanford, Columbus, 
Junior Stanford, Baltimore, Md., Joe Stanford, Fitzgerald, Troy Stanford, 
Nashville, and Roy Stanford, Enigma; 13 grandchildren; and five great-
grandchildren.
Funeral services are at 10 a.m., Friday, Sept. 15, 2006, in the chapel of 
Lovein Funeral Home with the Rev. Johnny Smith and David Stalvey officiating. 
Interment is in Nashville Memorial Gardens. Visitation is from 7-9 p.m. today 
at Lovein Funeral Home.
