 Home.
 He was born December 4, 1925, in Echols County to the late Melton Colquitt and 
Abbie Stanford. He was retired from Ryder Truck Lines in Jacksonville, FL as a 
truck driver with over 40 years of service. He was of the Baptist faith and an 
Army veteran who served in WWII. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Ruth 
Kirkland and Margie Johnson; and three brothers, Lewis, Russell and L.A. 
Stanford.
 He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Sutton of Quitman; two daughters, Mary 
Dean Barnard and Shirley Staton, both of Jacksonville; son, Johnny (Lydia) 
Stanford of Jacksonville; brother, J.L. Stanford of Nashville; seven 
grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren, and five great-great-grandchildren.
 Funeral services were held on Sunday, November 8 at 2 p.m. in the Chapel of 
Lovein Funeral Home with the Rev. Murrell Bennett officiating.
 Interment was in Wayfare Cemetery.
 Lovein Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
