The Berrien Press -- Virginia Denise Stewart, 60, of Alapaha died April 18, 
2007 at Bacon County Hospital in Alma.
 She was born July 14, 1946 in Lowndes County to the late J.B. Cofield Sr. and 
Rudine Allen Cofield. She was a cosmetologist at Shirley's His and Her's 
Styling Salon and was a member of Azalea City Church of God.
 Survivors include two sons and one daughter-in-law, Michael Stewart of 
Lowndes County. Craig and Chasta Stewart of Berrien County, three brothers and 
sisters-in-law, J.B. (Jerry) Cofield, Jr. and Nancy Cofield of Jacksonville 
Beach, FL, (Judge) Dewey and Joyce Cofield of Valdosta, Bobby Jack and Wanda 
Cofield of Tifton; one sister and brother-in-law, Shirley and Wilbur Pelphrey 
of Valdosta; five grandchildren, Cole Stewart, Carley Stewart, Brandon 
Stewart, Jordan Stewart, and Blake Stewart, several nieces, nephews, and 
cousins. She was preceded in death by one son, Alford Sherrod Stone.
 Funeral services were held April 21 at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Carson McLane 
Funeral Home with Rev. Carroll Allen officiating.
 Interment was in Riverview Memorial Gardens.
 Carson McLane Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
