Born August 8, 1936 in Berrien County to the late Walter Ward and Martha Jane Metts Stone, he was a retired meter reader with the City of Nashville Water Department. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Shirley Faye Harrell Stone. Survivors include his second wife, Dora Elaine Taylor Stone of Nashville; one daughter, Brenda Warren of Nashville; four sons, Wilson Stone, Jr., Matthew Ward Stone, Chad Carol Luke and Corey Lance Luke all of Nashville; two brothers, Willie C. Stone and Russell Stone both of Nashville; two granddaughters. Funeral services were held June 20 at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Lovein Funeral Home with the Revs. Robert King and Mickey Lindsey officiating. Musical selections included "Go Rest High on That Mountain" and "I Bowed on My Knees." Sandy Coody sang "Amazing Grace." Interment was in Westview Cemetery. Active pallbearers were Wayne Lister, Carol Stone, Danny Lee, Tim Roland, Billy May, David Coody, Jamie Cook. Honorary pallbearers Jerry Griner, Charles Bristol, Stacey Bristol, Larry Sizemore, Arthur Stanford, Jeff Bristol, Richard Knowles, F. A.
