Born in Hahira, Oct. 20, 1965, to Glen and Pat Gaskins Joiner of Lakeland, she h had lived in Blackshear since 1992. She graduated from Berrien High School in 1 1983 and received her Associates Degree from Abraham Baldwin Agricultural C College followed by her Bachelors and Masters degrees from Valdosta State U University. She began her teaching career in Ludiwici then moving to McDonald S Street School in Waycross. From there she went to Ruskin Elementary where she t taught for many years before moving to Blackshear and teaching at Blackshear E Elementary. She attended Mathis Chapel Baptist Church in Nashville and enjoyed r reading and sunbathing. She will be remembered as a loving wife and mother and w will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Survivors, in addition to her parents, include her husband, Darryl Strickland of Blackshear; two sons, Stephen Bradley "Brad" Strickland and Tyler Landrum Strickland, both of Blackshear; sister and brother-in-law, Angela and Jimmy Fleenor of Kingsport, TN; brother and sister-in-law, Steven and Christie Joiner of Mountain City, TN; maternal grandmother, Audrey Gaskins of Howell; sister-in-law, Cheryl (Ken) Kiser of Hahira; two brothers law, Cheryl (Ken) Kiser of Hahira; two brothers-in-law, Earl (Anita) Strickland of of Homerville and Jason (Michelle) Strickland of Barnesville; niece, Andrea Fl Fleenor; five nephews, Stephen Joiner, Jayden Joiner, Ethan Strickland, Adam Ki Kiser and Clay Kiser; several other relatives and friends. Funeral services were held Dec. 8 at 3:30 p.m. at First Baptist Church in B Blackshear. Pearson-Dial Funeral Home of Blackshear was in charge of arrangements.
