Born in Nashville on April 16, 1935, to the late T.J. and Gladys Nicholson Futch, she was a member of Pineview Baptist Church. She had served as hostess at Valdosta First United Methodist Church for 18 years and was instrumental in the organization and forming of LAMP. She enjoyed cooking, serving, working at t the church and being with her family. Survivors include her husband, William "Bill" Stripling; son and daughter-in-law, Richard and Linda Stripling, and daughter and son law, Richard and Linda Stripling, and daughter and son-in-law, Judy and Calvin Williams, all of Hahira; seven grandchildren and their spouses, DeWayne and Melissa Stripling, David and Michelle Stripling, Michael Williams, Amy Sturdivant, William "Bill", III, and Rebecca Stripling, Christopher Stripling, Sean Stripling, and nine great-grandchildren; four brothers and sisters-in-law, Waymond and Mary Futch of Pineville, LA, Edward and Linda Futch of Ruby, LA, T.J., T.J.,Jr., and Sarah Futch of Nashville, Kenneth and Linda Futch of Fitzgerald; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Geneva and Scotty Bailey of Richwood, WV and Ane Anelda and Allen Guest of Douglasville; numerous nieces and nephews. She was pre preceded in death by a son, William F. "Billy" Stripling, Jr. Funeral services were held June 16 at 10 a.m. in the chapel of Martin/McLane Fu Funeral Home with the Revs. Wayne Boykin and Phillip Badley officiating. Burial followed at Sardis Cemetery in Berlin. Martin/McLane Funeral Home of Hahira was in charge of arrangements.
